Will a solar water pump work on cloudy days or during monsoon?
Yes. Northsun solar pumps utilize advanced MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) controllers that can run the motor even at reduced solar irradiance. While peak discharge occurs during direct sunlight (10 AM to 4 PM), the system will still pump water at lower speeds during overcast weather.
 
Yes! With our customized Solar Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Retrofit Kit, your existing 3-phase AC submersible motor can be connected directly to a solar panel array without replacing your pump set.
 
Under the PM-KUSUM Scheme (Component B), eligible farmers can get up to 60% subsidy (30% Central + 30% State) on solar pump capacities up to 7.5 HP. Northsun provides full paperwork and MNRE-compliant equipment support.
 
The solar PV panels come with a 25-year performance warranty. The MPPT VFD controller and motor set have a design operational life of 8 to 12 years with minimal maintenance required.
